Healing-Centered Care
Trauma-Focused Therapy
Specialized, compassionate support for healing from traumatic experiences. You don't have to carry the weight alone—healing is possible.
Understanding Trauma
Trauma is not what happens to you—it's what happens inside you as a result of what happens to you. It's the lasting impact of experiences that overwhelmed your ability to cope, leaving you feeling powerless, disconnected, or unsafe.
Trauma can result from single events (like accidents or assault) or ongoing experiences (like childhood neglect or domestic violence). Complex trauma refers to exposure to multiple or prolonged traumatic events, often of an interpersonal nature.
You Should Know
• Trauma symptoms are normal responses to abnormal experiences
• Healing is possible, even from severe trauma
• You are not "broken"—your nervous system is doing its best to protect you
• Recovery happens at your pace, with your permission

The Three Phases of Trauma Recovery
Healing from trauma typically progresses through these phases, though not always linearly.
Safety & Stabilization
Establishing safety, developing coping skills, and building resources. We focus on managing symptoms and creating stability in your present life before addressing past trauma directly.
Processing & Mourning
Carefully processing traumatic memories when you're ready. This involves confronting and working through the trauma in a safe, controlled way, grieving losses, and integrating the experience.
Reconnection & Integration
Reconnecting with yourself and others, building a life beyond trauma, and integrating your experiences into a coherent narrative that doesn't define you but informs who you are today.
